To my mother country

-Sanjana

They laughed at she,
Who wore the identitiy,
They were ashamed to reveal
Proudly, on her sleeve.

They mocked he,
Who spoke with fluency,
The mother tongue they hurried to forget,
And boasted off speaking a foreign dialect.

Oh what hypocrisy is it that a man who bows for another land
Is viewed greater than a man who bows for his!

The land we were born in isnโ€™t perfect
But it poured so much love unto you and me
Therefore letโ€™s all work towards realizing
The true beauty of our mother country.

Thankyou for reading my poem. I would love to hear your feedback. ๐Ÿ™‚
